This cage has grown as my fuzz-butts have. When I only had Bubs, the cage consisted of only the top portion. Then Monty came to me and I bought the larger, bottom section. Eventually, I ended up adopting the Cheat and added the old cage to the new and viola! More then enough space for the three of them to run around before and after free range time! Since photo was taken a 18" wooden bird ladder has been added to get to the top level.

A very great cage. Totally reccomend to anyone who has up to two male or three small doe rats. Only $60 at PetsMart. Worth the money, easy to clean. Easy to wipe down and the whole cage lifts right of its plastic base.

A very great cage. Totally reccomend to anyone who has up to ten male rats. Bar spacing is too small for some rats. Bought at PetsMart and another one at Ferret Store.com. Worth the money, easy to clean. Easy to wipe down and the whole cage lifts right of its plastic base.

Note: Cage is used for exercise, not for a cage. One groups free roams while the other exercises.

Comments:
Sturdy long-lasting cage with coated bars that don't rust. This cage will last for years and is easy to keep clean. It's perfect for adult rats, and ideal for elderly rats - because you can lower the ramps and shelves. I have had a rat live in this cage until almost 3 1/2 years old and several rats with hind-limb paralysis. Only suitable for baby rats if you cover it temporarily with wire mesh as the bar spacing is 1".

Comments:
Cage has large opening doors on the front and 2 small doors on each side. The doors close in a difficult way - making them too secure, but if you do not close them like this they are not secure enough. Movable shelves. Runners around shelves collect water and mess, but hard to clean shelves in awkward positions!!! Not suitable for baby rats or small does.
